November 12, 2012 was a special day on the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter campus in Winston-Salem as we had a wonderful dedication ceremony of our new Wells Fargo Veterans Garden, built by donations from the community. The Veterans Garden was specially designed to be a place for Hospice patients and families to reflect, remember and be honored. Approximately 150 people were in attendance and the program included members of the Patriot Guard Riders, the Oak Ridge Military Academy’s Color Guard, Flag Detail and veterans were invited to walk through the Arc of Sabers Detail while Amazing Grace was played on live bagpipes. The VFW Honor Guard gave a 3-volley gun salute to honor the veterans who have lost their lives protecting our freedom after which Taps was played on live bugle. Staff pinned the veterans in attendance and the program was followed by a lovely reception in our Education & Counseling Center. Please click here to view photos from this wonderful ceremony.
